Diminished levels of the chemokine fractalkine in postmortem prefrontal cortex in schizophrenia but not bipolar disorder.

Conclusions: The observed deficit in fractalkine protein levels in SCZ is consistent with impaired neuron-microglia crosstalk in this disorder.
