Trans ‐capsaicin for pain reduction and function improvement in patients with knee osteoarthritis

AbstractWe read with deep interest the article by Randall et al.(1) related to the efficacy and safety of high ‐purity synthetic trans‐capsaicin in treating chronic osteoarthritis (OA)–associated knee pain. This randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial found significant improvement of OA pain after the intraarticular injection of trans‐capsaicin in OA patients. We really appreciate the work which was done by the authors. However, some worthwhile issues need further exploration.
