Risk of heart failure in type 2 diabetes complicated by incident ischaemic heart disease and end ‐stage renal disease

ConclusionPatients with T2D complicated by development of intercurrent IHD, ESRD, or both, showed a significantly higher risk of HF compared to those who did not develop IHD and ESRD. An effective way to delay or prevent the development of HF in patients with T2D may be to prevent IHD and ESRD.
