The focus of the 2019 Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology Acute Kidney Injury From Bench to Bedside Conference was to bridge the divide between preclinical and clinical research in the field of acute kidney injury (AKI). By inviting leading investigators and trainees in basic, clinical, and translational research on AKI, the goal of the meeting was to develop a shared understanding of the progress and challenges that each of these disciplines faces in developing effective therapies for patients with AKI.
