Non-invasive VT Ablation: Should We Apply the Accelerator or the Brake?

Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) or stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR) utilizes advanced external beam radiotherapy to accurately deliver ablative doses of ionizing radiation to a precisely defined three-dimensional anatomic volume. Stereotactic radiosurgery was initially developed for brain tumors and was subsequently adapted to treat extracranial tumors with the advent of respiratory gating and image-guidance to overcome obstacles posed by internal organ and external body movement.
