#Cleftlip/Palate: What Is the World Talking About?
CONCLUSIONS: Charities dominate the cleft lip/palate "Twitterverse." Most tweets were self-promotional, and over a third of educational tweets were low accuracy. As the cleft social media community continues to grow, we recommend using the hashtag #cleft to reach a wider audience. PMID: 32270703 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: It was previously reported by the authors’ group that the 8- to 10-year-old age range is an at-risk period for psychosocial distress in children with craniofacial anomalies. Their current work demonstrates that increased number of operations during this time frame may result in long-term consequences in anxiety and depression in cleft lip and palate patients. CLINICAL QUESTION/LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Risk, II.

CONCLUSIONS: Outcomes aimed to provide a working document to define core principles for safe comprehensive cleft care, while balancing various levels of resources, geographic locations, appropriately trained health care professional specialists, and training limitations. The study highlights the process and benefits to a collaborative international working group not only to establish best practice but also to solicit and engage others in discussion of their experiences with building and supporting safe, high-quality, comprehensive, sustainable, worldwide cleft care. CONCLUSIONS: Two-stage surgery, surgeon, and surgeon volume were significant predictors of fistula occurrence in all children, and older age at hard palate repair was protective in those with 2-stage repair. PMID: 32573252 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSIONS: Application of ERAS to palatoplasty patients of advanced age and complexity evidenced consistency with respect to decreased perioperative narcotic administration and shortened LOS. A positive PRVP was found to be an independent predictor of RTS even when ERAS was applied. PMID: 32567352 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
