Endoscopic Research Awards

Endoscopic Research Awards Submission Deadline: January 31, 2014 at 5pm CST.  ASGE Endoscopic Research Awards are offered to physicians for projects in basic, translational and clinical endoscopic research. The ASGE is particularly interested in endoscopic research pertaining to colorectal cancer, Barrett's esophagus, endoscopy training/credentialing/simulation, endoscopic issues specific to under-represented minorities (defined as women and individuals of diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds), measuring/improving quality and efficiency in endoscopy, endoscope reprocessing and infection control (especially vacuum canisters), endoscopy/anesthesia monitoring and preparation (especially CO2 monitoring), comparative effectiveness with competing technologies/therapies, NOTES, novel endoscopic treatments for obesity, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and other endoscopically-guided imaging/intervention. The research committee will consider funding "seed" projects if there is an explicit outline for subsequent projects, and their funding plan (e.g. NIH, VA Merit), based on the preliminary data generated by the proposed pilot.
