Purpose of review This review aims to update the studies involving the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in neurogenic patients, published in the last two years. Recent findings Treatment of neurogenic LUTS (NLUTS) patients with β3 adrenoreceptor agonists was investigated in real-life conditions. A randomized controlled trial compared the efficacy of antimuscarinics versus onabotulinum toxin A in neurogenic patients. The use of desmopressin to treat nocturia in multiple sclerosis patients is also reported. The long-term treatment with BontA efficacy, its discontinuation, and possible strategies to ...

Reversible functional inkjet printing is introduced as a new route to paper ‐ and cardboard‐based electronics. Hybrid metal‐polymer nanoparticle inks are combined with tailored paper coats to create conductive structures on low‐cost cardboard substrates without sintering. The conductive particles can be redispersed in liquid, which makes it possible to repair damage s after bending and folding. AbstractConductive inkjet printing with metal nanoparticles is irreversible because the particles are sintered into a continuous metal film. The resulting structures are difficult to remove or repair and prone to cracking. H...

ConclusionThis study reviews the largest cohort of patients with BBD in DS. It is common with serious consequences requiring operative intervention. Usual interventions are unreliable due to poor compliance. Early identification and management protect the renal tract. Regular screening for urogenital anomalies in DS is currently not performed. We recommend a thorough history of bladder function in DS patients to identify these cases early.

ConclusionIn a series of children and adolescents with ADCS, BIPSS was safe and highly accurate in defining the central to peripheral ACTH gradient using desmopressin as secretagogue. Nevertheless, there was a limited value of the ACTH-gradient between the petrosal sinuses for the tumor location.

ný P Abstract One of the conventional methods of alleviating the problem of poor drug solubility is the particle size reduction. The efficiency of this approach depends on successful formulation suppressing the drug agglomeration. The aim of this study was to circumvent the dissolution problems of model hydrophobic meloxicam drug (MLX) by using liquid media of different wetting capacity to comminute and formulate a rapidly dissolving carrier system without the use of surfactants. Micro-suspensions of MLX were prepared by ball milling, using water or n-Heptane as a liquid medium. The suspensions were used as...

Authors: Merideth MA, Introne WJ, Wang JA, O'Brien KJ, Huizing M, Gochuico BR Abstract Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by defective biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles. Clinical manifestations include a bleeding diathesis due to a platelet delta storage pool deficiency, oculocutaneous albinism, inflammatory bowel disease, neutropenia, and pulmonary fibrosis. Ten genes associated with HPS are identified to date, and each gene encodes a protein subunit of either Biogenesis of Lysosome-related Organelles Complex (BLOC)-1, BLOC-2, BLOC-3, or the Adaptor Protein...

In this study, a novel strategy for hydrophobization of lignocelluloses was investigated, which involved the laccase/TEMPO-mediated grafting of octadecylamine (OA) onto both lignin and cellulose components of jute fabrics. The results showed that OA monomers were successfully grafted onto jute fabric surface using the laccase/TEMPO system with the grafting percentage and efficiency values of 0.712% and 10.571%, respectively. The primary hydroxyl groups of cellulose were oxidized by laccase/TEMPO to carbonyl groups, which were then coupled with amino-contained OA monomers via Schiff base reaction. The phenolic hydroxyl grou...
