Hsa_circ_0061140 promotes endometrial carcinoma progression via regulating miR-149-5p/STAT3. Gene. 2020 Mar 26;:144625 Authors: Liu Y, Chang Y, Cai Y Abstract Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are reported to participate in many diseases including tumorigenesis, which can modulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. Up to now, the detailed function ofcircRNAs inendometrial carcinoma (EC) progression are to be well established. hsa_circ_0061140 has been revealed to act as crucial regulators in several cancers. This current study was carried out to explore the function ofhsa_circ_0061140in EC development. Here, hsa_circ_0061140 expression was modulated using functional assays and we found loss of hsa_circ_0061140 significantly restrained EC cells progression. Moreover, we revealed hsa_circ_0061140 could act as a molecular sponge for miR-149-5p. STAT3 was predicted as a downstream target gene of miR-149-5p. As well known,miR-149-5p is reported to be involved in tumor growth and metastasis. Then, dual luciferase reporter experiment and RIP assay were carried out to evidence the direct binding association between hsa_circ_0061140 and miR-149-5p. miR-149-5p was able to negatively modulate STAT3 expression. Additionally, we proved hsa_circ_0061140 exhibited its oncogenic role due to the modulation of miR-149-5p and STAT3 axis. Taken these together, we suggested that hsa_circ_0061140 might act as an effective therapy to treat EC through functioning as a molecular spo...

ConclusionsWhile several CPGs are shared across patients, many pathogenic variants are found to be ancestry-specific and trigger somatic effects. Studies using larger cohorts of diverse ancestries are required to pinpoint ancestry-specific genetic predisposition and inform genetic screening strategies.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the clinicopathologic factors and either expression or co-expression of mesothelin and cancer antigen (CA) 125 in endometrial serous carcinoma and mixed carcinomas including serous carcinoma. Between 1990 and 2017, patients with endometrial serous carcinoma and mixed carcinoma including serous carcinoma treated by total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy at our hospital were identified. The association between either expression or co-expression of mesothelin and CA125 was evaluated by immunochemical analysis and the clinico-pat...

Abstract Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the possible role of dietray TAC against different types of cancers in a systematic review and meta-analyses of observational studies. Methods: A literature search of authentic electronic resources had been performed to obtain the relevant studies up to February 2020. Results: Twenty-one studies including nine prospective and twelve case-control studies were included in the current systematic review and meta-analysis. These studies have included 1404297 individuals. Higher TAC categories were associated with 21% reduced risk of colorectal cancer, 27% reduced risk of endome...

Pan‑cancer analysis of transmembrane protease serine 2 and cathepsin L that mediate cellular SARS‑CoV‑2 infection leading to COVID-19. Int J Oncol. 2020 May 26;: Authors: Katopodis P, Anikin V, Randeva HS, Spandidos DA, Chatha K, Kyrou I, Karteris E Abstract Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus‑2 (SARS‑CoV2) is the cause of a new disease (COVID‑19) which has evolved into a pandemic during the first half of 2020. Older age, male sex and certain underlying diseases, including cancer, appear to significantly increase the risk for severe COVID‑19. SARS‑CoV‑2 infection of ...

Prognostic Role of Krüppel-Like Factors 5, 9, and 11 in Endometrial Endometrioid Cancer. Pathol Oncol Res. 2020 May 25;: Authors: Viola L, Londero AP, Bertozzi S, Orsaria M, Marzinotto S, Antoniazzi F, Renda V, Cinel J, Fruscalzo A, Lellé RJ, Mariuzzi L Abstract BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Krüppel-like factors (KLFs) are transcription factors with the ability to mediate cross-talk with signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation control, apoptosis, migration, and differentiation. They also appear to influence steroid hormone signaling through transcriptional networks involving ste...

AbstractMost endometrial carcinomas (ECs) occurring during pregnancy are diagnosed in the first trimester. During the gestation period, progesterone level, which has a protective effect on the endometrium, is found to increase. In EC cases, administering high-dose progesterone is a therapeutic strategy because this hormone can considerably shrink tumors. Herein, the case of a woman in whom EC progressed during pregnancy is reported. Before pregnancy, she was diagnosed with atypical polypoid adenomyoma based on a blind office biopsy. She spontaneously conceived 2  months later, although she was suggested to undergo dil...

Authors: Terzic M, Norton M, Terzic S, Bapayeva G, Aimagambetova G Abstract Several different approaches have been designed by physicians in order to preserve fertility in younger patients with endometrial carcinoma. There are various options offering different advantages, but hysteroscopic resection of pathologic endometrial tissue with placement of a Levonorgestrel Intrauterine Device has proven to be the most successful in allowing patients to conceive and give birth afterwards. However, conservative treatments should only be considered in patients with low-grade and low-stage endometrial tumours. There are many...
