Benefit of ECMO as a Bridge to Lung Transplantation on Right Ventricle Recovery
High emergency list registration in France for patients with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) at imminent risk of death has improved survival rate after lung transplantation (LT). Decompensated right heart failure may explains early postoperative mortality. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) as a bridge to LT might allow right ventricle recovery before surgery. The aim was to analyze ECMO efficiency on right ventricle recovery and its optimal duration before LT.
