85. An Unforeseen Consequence of Dental Braces: Allergic Contact Dermatitis of the Vulva

Most cases of allergic contact dermatitis are localized to the area of skin that is exposed to the allergen; however, this is not always the case. When an allergen is ingested it may produce systemic contact dermatitis which is more difficult to diagnose. Unique features of the vulvar epithelium and environment make it susceptible to these reactions.
