4. Longstanding Prepubertal Vaginal Bleeding in an 8 year old Secondary to Genital Self-Mutilation

Genital self-mutilation (GSM) has been published in males however less in females. Rates of self-harm in females, especially adolescents are known to be higher than male counterparts, but GSM although prevalent is not well documented. Few case reports have been written in regards to women with GSM, none in a prepubertal female. Here we present a case involving an 8 year old with prepubertal vaginal bleeding that was followed for over 3 years secondary to a late disclosure of GSM.
