Authors: Zhuo YY, Wu JM, Kuang L, Qu YM, Zee B, Lee J, Yang ZX Abstract We aimed to investigate the efficacy of an objective method using AI-based retinal characteristic analysis to automatically differentiate between two traditional Chinese syndromes that are associated with ischemic stroke. Inpatient clinical and retinal data were retrospectively retrieved from the archive of our hospital. Patients diagnosed with cerebral infarction in the department of acupuncture and moxibustion between 2014 and 2018 were examined. Of these, the patients with Qi deficiency blood stasis syndrome (QDBS) and phlegm stasis in chann...

This study aimed to examine the efficiency and safety of acupuncture for individuals with PSSH. METHODS: We searched nine databases from their inception to 27th July 2019. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of acupuncture for the treatment of PSSH met the screening criteria. The quality of methodology was evaluated by Cochrane's risk of bias tool. RevMan 5.3 was used to perform the meta-analysis. The primary outcome was the Fugl-Myer Assessment (FMA) score, and the secondary outcomes were the Ashworth Scale for Spasticity (ASS) and Barthel Index (BI) scores. To evaluated the safety of acupuncture therapy, researchers...

Conclusion: Despite the heterogeneity, the results indicate that combining mirror therapy with another rehabilitation therapy on the upper extremity in patients with stroke is better than single rehabilitation therapy. However, more randomized controlled clinical trials and larger sample sizes are required for an in-depth meta-analysis.

AbstractObjectiveTo explore the mechanism of An-pressing manipulation in improving post-stroke muscle spasticity, by observing the changes of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine (Gly) in plasma and gray matter of L1-L3 spinal cord anterior horn in post-stroke rats with muscle spasticity after An-pressing manipulation intervention.MethodsTen of 80 adult male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly selected as the blank group, and the remaining 70 were used for modeling. The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rat model was established by insertion suture occlusion method in the left external carotid artery. Thir...
