123I-FP-CIT Brain SPECT Findings in Succinic Semialdehyde Dehydrogenase (SSADH) Deficiency.

CONCLUSIONS: The findings obtained by means of the 123I-DaTScan brain SPECT may give rise to new concerns on pathophysiological aspects of the SSADH deficiency disorder that has never been investigated before, such as the nigrostriatal dopaminergic system functionality, encouraging further investigation. Neuroblastoma is one of the most common pediatric malignant tumors. Functional imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis, staging, and therapy response monitoring of neuroblastoma. Although metaiodobenzylguanidine scan with single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography remains the mainstay in functional imaging of the neuroblastomas, PET/CT has begun to show increased utility in this clinical setting.

The past two decades have brought impressive advancements in immune modulation, particularly with the advent of both cancer immunotherapy and biologic therapeutics for inflammatory conditions. However, the dynamic nature of the immune response often complicates the assessment of therapeutic outcomes. Innovative imaging technologies are designed to bridge this gap and allow non-invasive visualization of immune cell presence and/or function in real time. A variety of anatomical and molecular imaging modalities have been applied for this purpose, with each option providing specific advantages and drawbacks. Anatomical methods...

AbstractLead (Pb) is a toxic heavy metal that is harmful to humans, especially male reproductive organs. Luteolin (LUT) is a naturally occurring flavonoid with numerous biological activities. Our aim was to investigate the possible reproprotective effect of LUT against testicular deficits induced by Pb intoxication. In the present study, 28 rats were distributed into 4 groups: control, LUT (50  mg/kg), lead acetate (PbAc, 20 mg/kg), and LUT + PbAc groups, in which rats were pre‐treated with LUT 3 hr before PbAc injection. All animals were treated for 7 days. Oxidative stress, inflammato...

This study ’s aim was to compare both approaches and to apply the semi-quantitative method at 1 hour.MethodsTc-99m-PYP scans of 122 consecutive subjects were reviewed using both approaches. On 1 hour planar images, regions of interest were drawn over the heart and contralateral chest to determine H/CL. Myocardial uptake was graded on 1 and 3 hour SPECT images according to the semi-quantitative method. Concordance was examined using kappa statistics.Results31, 10, and 81 studies were positive, negative, and equivocal, respectively, for ATTR-CA using the H/CL approach. Using the grading system, 35, 77, and 10 scans wer...

The objective of this study was to describe morphological characteristics of the mandible and the temporomandibular joint in patients with facial asymmetry, using computed tomography and 3D reconstruction. Methods: A retrospective observational study was performed with patients displaying facial asymmetry evaluated by single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/CT analysis, for suspected UCH, between 2015 and 2018. The following variables were compared between the affected side (producing the asymmetry) and the contralateral side (side to where the jaw is deflected): condylar length, condylar medial and lateral pole...

Conclusion: Our preliminary results demonstrate that, in clinical practice, SISCOM-SPM has the potential to add information that might help localize the EZ compared to visual analysis. SISCOM-SPM has a lower cost than other commercially available SISCOM software packages, which is an advantage for developing countries. Studies with more patients are necessary to confirm our findings.
