High-dose intravenous nitrates in acute heart failure: Level of evidence and adherence

We thank Wang et al. for their review on high-dose intravenous nitrate in acute heart failure (AHF) [1]. Their work illustrates that the level of evidence for nitrates use in AHF is moderate at best, and that this crucial matter is poorly investigated despite the very high mortality rate and morbidity of AHF especially in elderly emergency department (ED) patients [2].
