Authors: Piłat P, Borzęcki A, Jazienicki M, Gerkowicz A, Szubstarski F, Krasowska D Abstract Introduction: There are many papers in the available literature on the pre-operative evaluation of malignant melanoma (MM) using a 20 MHz probe. In many Western European countries, this examination is standard in the diagnosis of such lesions in terms of the resection margin. However, few papers describe and compare the results of melanoma thickness measurements using 20 and 50 MHz frequency probes. Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the thickness of melanoma using 20 and 50 MHz probes. In addition, the obtaine...

Authors: Keneisenuo K, Choudhary OP, Priyanka P, Kalita PC, Kalita A, Doley PJ, Chaudhary JK Abstract There is no previously reported information on the applied anatomy and clinical significance of the maxillofacial and mandibular regions of the barking deer and sambar deer. Therefore, the present study was designed to provide some important clinical landmarks related to tracking of the infraorbital, mental and mandibular nerves with its clinical implications in regional anaesthesia in both the species. In the present study, the distance between the most lateral bulging of the facial tuberosity to the infraorbital ...

In this study, it was aimed to examine the forelimb arteries in Southern Karaman and Hasak sheep breeds. Totally 8 Southern Karaman and 8 Hasak sheep were obtained from Konya Bahri Dagdas International Agricultural Institute. The sheep were anesthetized with xylazine and ketamine and extravasated by cutting the arteria carotis communis in the neck area of the sheep. The forelimbs of the sheep separated from the body were fixed in 10% formaldehyde solution and then dissections were made and the course and branching of the arteries were examined. It was determined that the arteria brachialis was divided into two main branche...

CONCLUSIONS: Due to the high incidence of the anatomical variants of the paranasal sinuses, aCT scan is recommended in all patients before a planned surgery in order to avoid the potential iatrogenic complications. Dimensions of the sphenoid sinuses might point towards more at risk variants, but there is still a substantial amount of research that needs to be done in that aspect. CONCLUSIONS: As the tibial nerve and its branches presents a huge variability in the medial ankle area in order to prevent the iatrogenic injuries the preoperative or intraoperative ultrasound assessment (sonosurgery) of its localization should be introduced into the clinic. Authors: Gokmen Karasu AF, Aydin S, Ates S, Takmaz T, Comba C Abstract Introduction: Our objective was to compare the effect of rectal misoprostol (Cytotec) versus rectal hyoscine-n-butyl bromide (Buscopan) on patients undergoing hysteroscopy. We hypothesised that HBB may have a role in cervical priming.Material and methods: This trial was conducted at Bezmialem Vakif University Hospital. Women of reproductive age between 18-50 years who were scheduled for operative hysteroscopy indicated by type 1 submucous myoma or endometrial polyps were recruited for the study. Ninety patients were divided randomly into ...

CONCLUSION: Utilizing a large North American DTC registry, we found the prevalence of de novo TgAb detection to be 5% among initially TgAb negative patients. We did not find a statistically significant association between de novo TgAb development and DTC structural recurrence. Larger prospective studies are required to confirm these findings and further assess the significance of de novo TgAb detection in the follow up of DTC.
