Impact of Behavioral Disturbance on Caregiver Burden and Nursing Home Placement

We thank Dufournet et  al for a thorough review of factors involving nursing home placement for patients with cognitive difficulty.1 However, their conclusion gives the impression that the extent of cognitive impairment, neuropsychiatric symptoms, and behavioral disorders, has little to no impact on caregiver burden sca le that merits further discussion.
