ConclusionsOur study reveals the need for targeted patient ‐education about the benefits and limitations of follow‐up. In order to meet increasing costs of cancer care, individualized follow‐up procedures adjusted to risk of recurrence and late‐effects in cervical cancer survivors are warranted.

Purpose: The use of FDG PET has become more readily available over the past 15 years. It can be used to aid initial staging of testicular tumours and also assess the response to treatment in the metastatic setting, especially as residual masses are frequently seen after chemotherapy. There have been some recent concerns that FDG PET used to assess for residual disease may have a low positive predictive value [1]. A retrospective audit was carried out to look at the performance of FDG PET in seminoma patients treated at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre.

In conclusion, when treating elderly men with a smoking history, physicians need to carefully examine the walls of cystic airspaces on CT for fetal adenocarcinoma.Key pointsSignificant findings of the study•Pulmonary high‐grade fetal adenocarcinoma may be associated with emphysematous bullae manifesting as cystic air spaces as shown by computed tomography. What this study adds•When scanning by computed tomography, physicians should carefully examine the pulmonary cystic airspace walls in elderly men with a smoking history.

Objective: To study the dosimetric effect on special reconstruction images obtained from an electrocardiograph-gated four-dimensional computed tomography (ECG 4D-CT) series and compare it with the accumulation dose assessment of ECG 4D-CT.Methods: Fifteen patients underwent ECG 4D-CT scans to obtain a 4D-CT series. The 20 phase images of 0–95% were reconstructed at intervals of 5% of the cardiac cycle by the 4D-CT series. The 4D-CT series was specially reconstructed, and the maximum intensity projection (MIP), minimum intensity projection (MinIP), average intensity projection (AIP), and sum intensity projection (SIP)...

ConclusionBoth18F-NaF and18F-FDG are suitable for assessing skeletal involvement in BC patients. However, inherent different uptake mechanism highlights differences in diagnostic performance between these tracers, reflecting specific bone metastases ’ characteristics. Therefore, a complementary use of18F-NaF and18F-FDG PET imaging may be considered in clinically selected BC patients, such as those with suspicious bone involvement despite negative18F-FDG PET imaging, with prevalent CT-sclerotic bone findings or with apparently confined or oligo-metastatic cancer to exclude widespread disease.

Hovinga Vestibular schwannoma (VS) is a benign primary brain tumor that occurs sporadic or as part of a genetic syndrome. The most common cause is the mutation of the NF2 tumor suppressor gene that is involved in the production of the protein merlin. Merlin plays a role in cell growth and cell adhesion. In patients with NF2, the VSs arise bilaterally and coincide with other brain tumors. In sporadic VS, the tumor is typically unilateral and does not coincide in combination with other tumors. MRI is the standard imaging technique and can be used to assess the size and aspect of the tumor as well as the progression of di...

In this study the EGFR over‐expressing human head/neck OSC‐19‐luc2‐cGFP tumour with transfected GFP gen e was used in a skin‐fold window‐chamber model in BALB/c nude mice. The uptake and localization of the conjugate in the tumour and its surrounding normal tissues were studied by an intravital confocal laser scanning microscopy with image analyses. The tumour was also irradiated with 690 nm las er light 24 hours after conjugate administration. The vascular and tumour responses were examined by morphological evaluation and immunohistochemistry (IHC). The amount of conjugate in the tumour peaked at 24‐4...
