AbstractPurposeTo compare automated breast volumetric scanning (ABVS) with hand-held bilateral whole breast ultrasound (HHUS) prospectively in regards to patient workflow, woman preference, efficacy in lesion detection, and characterization.Materials and methodsSupplemental screening was performed with both ABVS and HHUS to 345 women with dense breasts and negative mammograms. Acquisition and evaluation times were recorded. Lesions were classified according to BIRADS US criteria and compared one to one. Women were recalled for a secondary HHUS examination if ABVS showed any additional lesions. Findings were compared based ...

We present a case of recurrent pancreatic cancer diagnosed by computer tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography(PET), 7 months after Whipple radical surgery in a 61-year-old female patient. The patient was successfully treated byfocused ultrasound surgery (FUS) by innovative high intensity focused ultrasound device. The patient had no complications.Multiple cycles of chemotherapy were done. Twelve months after FUS the new PET-CT showed no evidence of metabolite activezone in the area of ablation and no progression of disease. The presented case is unique according to the literature as a localrecurrence after radica...

Authors: Agbo CA, Lawal M, Jibrin D, Enjugu JE Abstract Testicular tuberculosis (TB) is a rare presentation of extrapulmonary TB. A 46-year-old man presented to our Urology clinic with a painless swelling of the right testis. Examination revealed a hard, non-tender swelling on the inferior pole of the testis that measured 3 x 2 cm. Scrotal ultrasound scan showed a complex mass with multiple hypoechoic lesions at the inferior pole of the right testis with dimension 2.4 x 1.7cm. Laboratory data showed elevated alpha fetoprotein and beta hcG and lymphocytosis. A diagnosis of right testicular cancer was made and the pa...

Abstract An 85-year-old asymptomatic man with suspected biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer underwent an F-fluciclovine PET/CT scan, which revealed a solitary suspicious tracer uptake in the dorsal right corporal body of the proximal pendulous penis. The patient underwent ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of the penile lesion, which revealed metastatic prostate cancer. The patient had definitive external beam radiation therapy 3 years before the examination. At the time of scan, the prostatic-specific antigen (PSA) was only 1.0 ng/mL, although the PSA doubling time was 2.6 months. It is unusual to det...
