CONCLUSIONS: Simultaneous CRC and CRLM resections seem to be safe when patients are carefully selected, also considering the risk of recurrence concerning oncologic outcomes. The pre-planning of simultaneous resection is mandatory to plan trocar positioning, procedure sequencing, and patient position. PMID: 32490901 [PubMed - in process]

CONCLUSIONS: MBC has increasing incidence. PR-negative status was associated with better overall survival and disease-free interval. Indications to radiotherapy and hormonal therapy need standardization and will benefit from prospective randomized control trials. PMID: 32147980 [PubMed - in process]

Characterizing male breast cancer (BC) and unraveling male breast carcinogenesis is challenging because of the rarity of this disease. We investigated copy number status of 22 BC-related genes in 18 cases of pure ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and in 49 cases of invasive carcinoma (IC) with adjacent DCIS (DCIS-AIC) in males using multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA). Results were compared to female BC and correlated with survival. Overall, copy number ratio and aberration frequency including all 22 genes showed no significant difference between the 3 groups. Individual unpaired analysis revealed a signi...

CONCLUSIONS: MBC is rare. Thus, we need larger studies are in collaboration with several research centers in the field of breast cancer. ER positive, grade II of invasive ductal carcinoma, stage II and right side happened more with MBC. Overall survival is similar to other studies. PMID: 27268636 [PubMed - in process]

An inspirational couple has turned a shared illness into a shared vision for the future of public health.  Meg and Gerard Campion have both been diagnosed with breast cancer over the past decade, and today are relentlessly raising awareness for the disease, particularly among men, ABC News reported. Breast cancer first affected the Connecticut couple when Gerard was diagnosed with the disease in 2006, after noticing a bump on his chest. “It was obviously shocking,” Meg told the news outlet. “I think my first thought was, 'He’s not supposed to have this, I am.'” Just three years later, aft...
