Performance of the Finnish Diabetes Risk Score (FINDRISC) and Modified Asian FINDRISC (ModAsian FINDRISC) for screening of undiagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus and dysglycaemia in primary care
Diabetes mellitus is a major health care problem globally and it leads to multiple complications that burden the health care systems worldwide [1]. The Malaysian National Health and Morbidity Surveys (NHMS) showed that the prevalence of diabetes in adults had risen from 11.6% in 2006 to 17.5% in 2015 [2,3]. The increasing trend could be due to the increasing obesity, population aging, increasing urbanization and unhealthy lifestyles [4]. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) 2015 recommended screening of diabetes in all adults aged ≥45 years old and those younger if at risk.
