Regarding "Adductor Canal Nerve Versus Femoral Nerve Blockade for Pain Control and Quadriceps Function Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Patellar Tendon Autograft: A Prospective Randomized Trial"

We took great interest in reading the article by Bailey et  al.1 entitled “Adductor Canal Nerve Versus Femoral Nerve Blockade for Pain Control and Quadriceps Function Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Patellar Tendon Autograft: A Prospective Randomized Trial” published in March 2019 in Arthroscopy. The authors performed a randomi zed controlled trial (RCT) on 90 patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with patellar tendon autograft and concluded that adductor canal nerve blockade was as effective as femoral nerve blockade at providing pain control while eliciting fewer quadriceps muscle activation defic its and fewer postoperative complications.
