NIHR Signal: Melatonin shows potential for reducing delirium among older people after surgery

Expert commentary is provided of a systematic review and meta-analysis (6 studies; n=1155) which reported that taking melatonin around time of surgery is linked with lower odds of delirium onset in older people vs placebo or no treatment (~15% vs. ~20%).
