Abstract A 38-year-old male presented with renal failure in the setting of a flu-like illness. Urinalysis showed myoglobinuria and granular casts. His serum creatine phosphokinase was markedly elevated. He was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis and was volume resuscitated with normal saline and bicarbonate-containing fluid.
