``Sandwich technique ” with dual strut allograft in surgical treatment of femoral nonunion

Femoral nonunion is the most common cause of reoperation after femoral fractures. It causes pain and disability, prolongs rehabilitation, and increases healthcare cost and lost work hours [1 –4]. Nonunion can develop due to a fracture, patient-related or fixation-related risk factors, such as inadequate fracture gap, avascularity, fracture stability, smoking, infection, malignancy, use of NSAIDs or steroids, or other systematic diseases (such as diabetes) etc. [1,2].
