ElangovanAbstractNew organic single crystals of Bis(cyclohexylammonium) dioxalate hydrate (BHADO) were grown by slow evaporation solution method at 30 °C temperature. The structure of crystalline material was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with non-centrosymmetric space group Cc. FT-IR and FT-Raman analyses were carried out to find the functional groups present in the grown sample. Optical study reveals that the grown crystal has low cut-off wavelength at 320 nm. The title compound is thermally stable up to 75 °C which is confirmed from TG/DTG and DSC analyses. The mechanical property of the crystal was carried out using Vickers microhardness test and also the dielectric study was taken for the crystal. The second harmonic generation (SHG) investigation was carried out using Kurtz Perry powder technique and the efficiency of the BHADO crystal was found to be 0.87 times that of KDP crystal.
