Management of psoriasis-like rash associated with idelalisib monotherapy in a patient with refractory follicular lymphoma: a  case report

ConclusionsThe clinical relevance of the effective management of adverse events in this case demonstrates the opportunity to enable patients to remain on therapy, thereby maintaining long-term response and improving overall outcomes.

CONCLUSION: This preliminary investigation in Iran shows that the main EBV genotype into our region probably is genotype I (91.2%) which it is similar to others. We could not find any statistically significant association between the virus infection and viral load with any specific disease and patients' demographic data. . PMID: 32212795 [PubMed - in process]

Authors: Choi Y, Yoo JH, Lee JH, Lee Y, Bae MK, Kim YD, Kim HJ Abstract Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), an extracellular matrix protein with various biological functions, is known to be upregulated in multiple chronic diseases such as liver fibrosis and congestive heart failure, but the mechanism it undertakes to cause alveolar bone loss in periodontitis remains elusive. The present study therefore investigates the pathways involving CTGF in chronic periodontitis. RNA sequencing revealed a notable increase in the expression of CTGF in chronic periodontitis tissues. Also, TRAP staining, TRAP activity and bon...

AbstractBackgroundSALL4 is a zinc finger transcription factor that exerts its physiological role during embryo-fetal development. Analyses of SALL4 expression have shown its oncogenic role in precursor B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, acute and chronic myeloid leukemia, gastrointestinal, breast, and lung cancers. The aim of this study was to determine the immunohistochemical profile of SALL4 in pediatric yolk sac tumors (YSTs).Methods and resultsImmunohistochemistry detection of SALL4 was performed in 22 cases of pediatric YSTs and 10 mature teratomas. The percentage of tumor cells stained was scored as 0, 1+  (1&ndas...

This study does not go into detail about the extent to which these comorbidities may influence the increased risk of cancer in psoriasis patients. People with severe psoriasis often do not get enough relief with topical therapies (ones applied to the skin), such as topical corticosteroids and vitamin D analogues. They may then be started on medications that target specific immune cells and proteins. Some of these medications increase the risk of infections. Previous studies have found little to no increased risk of cancer in patients receiving these therapies. Other treatments, such as phototherapy (light therapy), are kno...

We present a case of a 58-year-old man who presented with 5 years of cutaneous symptoms and several months of fevers and night sweats, ultimately diagnosed as MF. Owing to diffuse CD30 positivity, he was a candidate for brentuximab vedotin, an antibody-drug conjugate medication that selectively targets the CD30 antigen. This resulted in an excellent therapeutic response.

Abstract Due to the increase in utilization of chemotherapies and antibodies, drug hypersensitivity reactions have increased dramatically worldwide, preventing the use of first-line therapies and impacting patients' survival and quality of life. Some of the more frequently used medications in cancer include taxanes for ovarian, lung, breast, and prostate cancers. Monoclonal antibodies are used in the treatment of neoplastic, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases, and their clinical applications are becoming broader. Monoclonal antibody targets include CD20, HER-2, EGFR, IL-6 receptor, TNF-α, CD30, VEGF-A, Ig...
