Synthesis and characterization of Na-doped NiO nanocrystals

In this study, we present the effect of doping of sodium (Na) in nickel oxide nanocrystals synthesized using the co-precipitation method. The samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and analyzed further with the help of Raman and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic data. The XRD peaks, calculated crystallite size, dislocation density, strain and FTIR and Raman spectroscopic data is compared for the samples with the different doping concentrations. The crystal growth is explained on the basis of the recorded data. The experimental data is in good agreement mutually and, with the earlier reports.
