The materials were synthesized through conventional Sol-Gel method. A number of techniques have been employed to affirm the morphology, composition, photoluminescent and photocatalytic properties of the materials; these include UV-visible spectroscopy assisted in quantifying the concentration difference of degraded dye. The synthesis of Sn doped BaTiO3 was examined through powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and FESEM was done to examine the morphology of the particles. Photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra assisted in determining the surface defects and excited state of the undoped and doped BaTiO3. It could be deduced that Sn doped BaTiO3 is of significant interest in opto-electronics.
