Can/do/should psychiatrists practice psychotherapy?

From what I understand, they do receive training. But is it realistic? A personal preference? In my mind, there are waiting lists of numerous people where medication alone would be sufficient. And sure, maybe a patient can also see a psychologist. But is there any argument for “one-stop shopping”? What if certain patients want therapy and can’t get in with anyone else? Is the reduction in pay really so dramatic that it is unreasonable? What if you are interested in and enjoy doing both... Can/do/should psychiatrists practice psychotherapy?
