The daily salt consumption in recurrent stone formers

Introduction: Nephrolithiasis (NL) is a systemic and multifactorial disorder showing high prevalence and incidence in industrialized countries. The hyposodic diet is the cornerstone of NL primary and secondary prevention. The aim of this case-control study was to estimate the usual consumption of nutritional sources of salt in recurrent stone formers (RSF), treated with Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), and in healthy controls without NL (C).
