Introduction: The sense of "taste ” is a neurosensorial ability with a very important role in food preferences and in the choice of foods. The loss of the gustatory function greatly compromises the quality of life and has a strong impact on social and relational activities. A reduction in flavor recognition occurs physiologically in the elderly subject and it has been associated with various diseases.
