Incidence and risk factors of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis in elderly patients: A retrospective clinical study.

CONCLUSIONS: Elderly PD patients had higher prevalence for peritonitis and peritonitis-related mortality. Advanced age, assistant-assisted PD, a higher BMI, and lower serum albumin level were independently associated with the first episode of peritonitis in elderly patients.
