CONCLUSION: The current study showed that man gender, diabetes and hypertension were the greatest risk factors for PAD. We conclude that man patients with diabetes and/or hypertension should be put under serious consideration for routine CTA examination when under evaluation for LSS and intermittent claudication. CONCLUSION: The prodromal symptoms of COVID-19 were mild and most patients did not have limitations of daily activity. Viral shedding from URT was high from the prodromal phase. Radiological pneumonia was common from the early days of illness, but it was frequently not evident in simple CXR. These findings could be plausible explanations for the easy and rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2 in the community. PMID: 32242348 [PubMed - in process]

CONCLUSIONS: Urethral and bladder foreign bodies by electric wire are a rare pathology. They can be due to different motivations. The treatment consists of the extraction of the cable, which can be carried out by endoscopic or open surgery depending on the size and morphology of the cable. It is advisable to study the mental state of these patients. PMID: 32240116 [PubMed - in process]

Radiographers and radiological technologists are the interface between imaging technology and patients. As medical imaging and radiotherapy experts, radiographers and radiological technologists are professionally accountable for patients ’ physical and psychological wellbeing, immediately prior to, during and following imaging investigations or therapy procedures. Radiographers and radiological technologists take an active role in justification and optimisation of medical imaging and radiotherapeutic procedures, and have a critica l position and vital role in the radiation safety of patients, carers and relatives in ...

Abstract In Brazil, rabies occurs mainly within an urban cycle, in which dogs and bats are reservoirs. This paper aims to report the occurrence of rabies in Callithrix sp. in Niter ói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In June 2019 a hybrid specimen was referred for diagnosis. The Direct Fluorescent Antibody, Mouse Inoculation, and Polymerase Chain Reaction tests were positive. A phylogenetic analysis was compatible with antigenic variant 3, characteristic of Desmodus rotundus. New stu dies should be undertaken to elucidate the real role of callitrichids in the urban rabies cycle.

Authors: Steinmetz RG, Maupin JJ, Johnson EB, Cantrell AJ, Fox JA, Bernhardt JA, Pasque CB, Teague DC Abstract INTRODUCTION: Extra-articular scapula body fractures have been shown to have good outcomes with nonsurgical management. What is not known is whether routine postinjury imaging of these fractures is necessary for monitoring healing and alignment. As the shift toward providing cost-effective healthcare continues, we sought to evaluate if routine postinjury imaging of these fractures resulted in any change in management while secondarily evaluating the imaging for fracture patterns at risk of displacement. ...

AbstractPurposeWe hypothesized that patient treated with OWHTO who participate in high-impact sports would attain satisfactory outcome. The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical and radiological outcomes in a consecutive series of opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) in highly active patients.MethodsSeventy-seven consecutive patients who underwent OWHTO with varus osteoarthritic knees were included in the study. The mean age of the study population was 56.1  years. All patients were followed for a minimum of 2 years. Clinical and radiological evaluations were performed at 12 and 24 months ...
