Conclusion: Several spots with differential expression were observed by comparing patients with ES against the PNES groups, which could be potential biomarkers of the disease. Damage to the blood-brain barrier is the most important difference between the two groups, thus identifying total protein changes offers a key to the future of differentiating ES and PNES patients. Conclusions: The study revealed that there was a higher prevalence of vitamin D3 insufficiency in epileptic children receiving valproate monotherapy compared with healthy children. Vitamin D3 supplementation should be given to all epileptic children even before initiation of anti-epileptic drugs. PMID: 32259112 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusion: IrTM could be useful in detecting hypothermic IZ in CD cases. As the ΔT is inversely proportional to epilepsy chronicity, this variable could affect the metabolic thermic patterns of the human brain. PMID: 32257556 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Conclusion: Integrating preoperative nTMS motor mapping in treatment planning allowed us to reduce dose distributions to perilesional motor fibers while achieving salvage of motor function, lasting seizure freedom, and tumor control. These initial data along with our review of the available literature suggest that nTMS can be of significant assistance in brain radiosurgery. Prospective studies including larger number of patients are still warranted. PMID: 32257555 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Authors: Raucci U, Pro S, Di Capua M, Di Nardo G, Villa MP, Striano P, Parisi P Abstract Introduction: Some neurologic conditions that can quickly and with low costs be recognized, classified and treated thanks to the availability of an EEG recording in an emergency setting.
