These nanograins were developed to design a new nanoprobe that will be able to determine persulfate anions in water sample based on Resonance Rayleigh Scattering (RRS) Technique. CuO NGs nanosensor were found to be selective for the detection of persulfate anions in the concentration range of 1–100 μM with a detection limit equal to 1.03 μM. The synthesized CuO NGs were sensitive towards the detection of persulfate anions and gave a recovery percentage between 98–100%.
