ConclusionOur study data demonstrates that two prevalent blaCTX-M genes, blaCTX-M-14 and blaCTX-M-15, have been circulating in S. sonnei in Korea over the last 10 years. Recently, international travellers are at a high risk for acquisition of CTX-M-15-producing S. sonnei in Korea.

ConclusionOur study showed high prevalence of enteric bacterial pathogens among food handlers. All isolates were susceptible to ciprofloxacin. However, a substential number of isolates were resistant to commonly prescribed antibiotics and the prevalence of MDR was high.
