CONCLUSIONS: The patients with the smaller nasopharyngeal areas presented identical PRESO and POSSO results when compared to those with larger nasopharyngeal sizes. Future studies should address the possible association between prepalatoplasty and postpalatoplasty TNAs and the occurrence of velopharyngeal deficiency later in life. CONCLUSIONS: Buccinator re-repair (Bs + Re: IVVP) has been shown to be an effective and safe procedure in treating difficult postpalatoplasty velopharyngeal incompetence. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with 22q11.2DS are medically complex and are at increased risk of OSA at baseline. Wide PPF surgery for severe VPD does not significantly increase risk of OSA. Cleft lip and/or palate is the commonest congenital craniofacial abnormality affecting approximately 1 in 700 newborns each year. It comprises of a heterogenous group of disorders affecting facial growth and cosmesis, that are associated with increased risk of airway obstruction, sleep disordered breathing (SDB), glue ear and chronic ear disease, feeding difficulties, and failure to thrive (FTT). Cleft palate (CP) can be accompanied by an abnormally undersized jaw, known as micrognathia; although micrognathia can also be found in isolation.
Discussion Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is a clefting problem of the brain. “[HPE] the result of incomplete or absent midline division of the embryonic forebrain into distinct cerebral hemispheres (prosencephalon) between the 18th and 28th day after conception.” There are four distinct subtypes: Alobar – both hemispheres are completely fused and are not separated into the left and right hemispheres. Conclusions:OSA did not develop or worsen following primary palatoplasty. However, the oAHI increased by 5 or more events/h in approximately 20% of study participants. The presence of a syndrome was the only factor predictive of worsening OSA after palatoplasty. ConclusionsOSCS is a rare disorder. Diagnosis can often be challenging because other diseases, such as osteopetrosis, pyknodysostosis, Paget disease of bone, and other sclerosing bone dysplasias, make this difficult to diagnose. Radiologists should be aware of the specific radiographic appearance of this condition to aid in the proper diagnosis and management of these patients.

CONCLUSIONS: Prone positioning may benefit some infants with RS. However, even those with significant improvement in obstructive sleep apnea did not completely resolve their obstruction.
