CONCLUSION: A subset of asymptomatic patients with ER⁺ and/or PR⁺ ROC and CA125 progression had durable clinical benefit on anastrozole, with acceptable toxicity. Anastrozole may delay symptomatic progression and the time to subsequent chemotherapy. The future challenge is to identify the subset of patients most likely to benefit from an aromatase inhibitor and whether the clinical benefit could be increased by the addition of other agents. CONCLUSION: LVSI is a strong independent risk factor for the development of non-locoregional recurrences even in intermediate-risk stage I endometrial cancer. The non-locoregional recurrence pattern suggests a future focus for optimization of postoperative treatment in these patients. PMID: 31328462 [PubMed - in process]

Authors: Yoneoka Y, Ishikawa M, Uehara T, Shimizu H, Uno M, Murakami T, Kato T Abstract OBJECTIVE: To treat advanced ovarian cancer, interval debulking surgery (IDS) is performed after 3 cycles each of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and postoperative chemotherapy (IDS group). If we expect that complete resection cannot be achieved by IDS, debulking surgery is performed after administering additional 3 cycles of chemotherapy without postoperative chemotherapy (Add-C group). We evaluated the survival outcomes of the Add-C group and determined their serum cancer antigen 125 (CA125) levels to predict complete surgery. ...

CONCLUSION: Our early experience demonstrates the safety and feasibility of IFRT as an effective salvage therapy and enables a "chemotherapy holiday" in selected recurrent EOC settings. The CA-125 value before IFRT (within normal range) and/or platinum sensitivity could be used as selection criteria for IFRT. PMID: 31328453 [PubMed - in process]

CONCLUSION: Response results of post-RT ¹⁸F-FDG PET were significant prognostic factors in patients with uterine cervical cancer, and ¹⁸F-FDG PET could be a reasonable follow-up imaging modality. PMID: 31328452 [PubMed - in process]

Publication date: Available online 22 July 2019Source: Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology and MedicineAuthor(s): Gayong Shim, Jinwon Park, Mi-Gyeong Kim, Geon Yang, Yeon Lee, Yu-Kyoung OhAbstractHere, we report various therapeutic cargo-loadable DNA nanostructures that are shelled in polydopamine and noncovalently tethered with cancer cell-targeting DNA aptamers. Initial DNA nanostructure was formed by rolling-circle amplification and condensation with Mu peptides. This DNA nanostructure was loaded with an antisense oligonucleotide, a photosensitizer, or an anticancer chemotherapeutic drug. Each therapeutic agent-loaded...
