Biothreat Rule Out or Refer Series

Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Published: 12/3/2019. This series of three exercises provides an opportunity for microbiologists to participate in a series of virtual case studies using the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) sentinel laboratory protocols to detect potential biothreat agents, while in a safe environment. Each exercise begins with a virtual case description and specimen. Each exercise is complete once a decision is made to either rule out the possibility of a biothreat agent within their laboratory, or to refer the specimen to a Laboratory Response Network (LRN) reference laboratory.
