Neurological complications during treatment of liver abscess: think of metronidazole toxicity.

We describe a young man who was receiving metronidazole for an amoebic liver abscess and developed encephalopathy and seizures. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed characteristic bilateral symmetrical cerebellar dentate hyperintensities.
