Charting immune system development in sub-Saharan African children

(Babraham Institute) In an effort to boost vaccination efficiency in children at most risk of infectious disease, a global team of researchers has performed an in-depth analysis of the developing immune system in children from sub-Saharan Africa, looking specifically at the impact of age, location and health status. The findings will be a valuable resource to support vaccination programmes and the development of new vaccines for at-risk populations. The study is published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.
