A Matlab toolbox for analyzing repetitive movements: application in gait and tapping experiments. On this basic research side, there are mainly two theoretical models: the Wing-Kristofferson (WK) model and the Haken-Kelso-Bunz (HKB) model. On the clinical side of the research, several efforts have been spent on quantitatively assessing gait and other repetitive movements such as tapping, especially as an outcome measure of clinical trials in diverse neurological disorders. Nevertheless, Parkinson's disease (PD) remains the predominant disorder in the clinical literature in this context, as the tremor activity and the changes in the gait are both common symptoms in PD. Although there are motion recording systems for data acquisition in clinical settings, the tools for analysis and quantification of the extracted time-series offered by these systems are severely restricted. This study aimed to evaluate the changes of laterality after deep brain stimulation (DBS) and the association between dopamine transporter SPECT using 123I FP-CIT (DAT SPECT) and symptom laterality in PD before and after DBS. Conclusions: The FC of ECN in PD patients was different from that in normal controls, but the FC of the ECN in patients with PD may not be altered by DBS. ConclusionsIn this multicenter study with a 24  months follow-up, we report significant sustained improvements after bilateral STN-DBS using a PD-specific sleep scale and a significant relationship between sleep and QoL improvements. This highlights the importance of sleep in holistic assessments of DBS outcomes.

CONCLUSIONS: iMRI-guided GPi-DBS lead placement in PD patients was associated with significant improvement in clinical outcomes, comparable to those observed following MER-guided DBS lead placement. Furthermore, iMRI-guided DBS implantation produced a similar safety profile to that of the MER-guided procedure.
