Powassan Virus in a Hunter Returning from a Trip in the Adirondack Park
We present the case of a 56-y-old man who presented to our hospital with symptoms of confusion, altered behavior, and headache. The patient developed fever and status epilepticus despite supportive care and required endotracheal intubation. Six days before presentation, the patient had returned from a hunting trip in the Adirondack region of New York State.
