In conclusion, GTP ameliorates the severity of portosystemic shunting and mesenteric angiogenesis via the suppression of HIF-1α, Akt activation, and VEGF. GTP appears as an appropriate agent to control portal hypertension-related complications via anti-angiogenesis.
