Does the type of LH suppression protocol (progesterone primed ovarian stimulation or GnRH antagonist) affect live birth rates among recipients of donated oocytes?
ConclusionsThe live birth among recipients of donated oocytes does not differ depending on the mode of treatment for endogenous LH suppression administered to the oocyte donors (OD) during controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) .This information is reassuring and of great interest for those teams using this kind of protocols, although deserves further research.
CONCLUSION: There was no evidence of increased infertility among women who received the HPV vaccine. These results provide further evidence of HPV vaccine safety and should give providers confidence in recommending HPV vaccination. Further research should explore protective effects of HPV vaccines on female and male fertility. PMID: 32253100 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
This study aimed to investigate the impact of thyroid hormone on decidualization in human endometrial stromal cells (hESCs) and define its physiological roles in vitro by gene targeting. To identify the expression patterns of thyroid hormone, we performed gene expression profiling of hESCs during decidualization after treating them with the thyroid hormone levothyroxine (LT4). A major increase in decidual response was observed after combined treatment with ovarian steroid hormones and thyroid hormone. Moreover, LT4 treatment also affected the regulation of many transcription factors important for decidualization. We found ...
Purpose of review The sensitivity of semen analysis for detection of infertility remains low. Many factors not measured in traditional semen analysis may contribute to male factor infertility. DNA fragmentation, oxidative stress, and sperm aneuploidy are three factors that may contribute further information to the evaluation when semen analysis is inconclusive. Recent findings DNA fragmentation measures the destruction of and failure to repair damage to DNA. Increased DNA fragmentation has been used as a marker for oxidative stress as well as toxic exposure. The oxidative stress adduct measures DNA aberrations, which ...
ez A Abstract OBJECTIVES: Relationships between weight and fertility are well known. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of lifetime eating disorder (ED) in a sample of infertile women seeking a specific infertility treatment, pulsatile gonadotropin-releasing hormone (pGnRH) treatment, and to compare it to the prevalence of lifetime ED in a sample of infertile women seeking other types of assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments. DESIGN: Non-randomized, observational study including infertile female patients. Two-group design including consecutive women treated with GnRH pump (pGnRH) or...
ConclusionsThis is the first report of livebirth after use of robotic ‐assisted laparoscopy in uterus transplantation and is thereby a proof‐of‐concept of use of minimal invasive surgery in this new type of transplantation.
CONCLUSIONS: Using robust consensus science methods, healthcare professionals, researchers, and women with endometriosis have developed a core outcome set to standardise outcome selection, collection, and reporting across future randomised controlled trials and systematic reviews evaluating potential treatments for endometriosis. TWEETABLE ABSTRACT: @coreoutcomes for future #endometriosis research have been developed @jamesmnduffy. PMID: 32227676 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Many papers and reviews have described the changes of the cervix during pregnancy, cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections, and cervicovaginal microbiota. In this Views and Reviews, we focus on some specific topics in relation to the uterine cervix and infertility: early cervical cancer and fertility sparing surgery, cesarean scar defect, cervical incompetence, and cervical m üllerian anomalies.
Around 20% of pregnant women undergo cesarean section (CS), and in most regions of the world CS rates continue to grow. There is still no clear definition of what is considered a normal physiologic aspect of a CS scar and what is abnormal. Cesarean scar defects (CSDs) should be suspected in women presenting with spotting, dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, or infertility and a history of CS. CSDs can be visualized with the use of hysterosalpingography, transvaginal sonography, saline infusion sonohysterography, hysteroscopy, and magnetic resonance imaging.
Conclusion: HIFU showed a safe and effective profile as a therapeutic management option for patients with adenomyosis. In comparison with LE, HIFU treatment achieved better postoperative reproductive outcomes. HIFU treatment should be encouraged and implemented in clinical practice.
