Patterns of cervical cancer brachytherapy in India: results of an online survey supported by the Indian Brachytherapy Society.
Conclusions: Our survey suggested a fairly uniform treatment paradigm for cervical cancer brachytherapy, with a progressive shift from 2D to 3D image-based parameters for planning, with persistence of point A based prescription. Further efforts are needed to augment and ease this transition. PMID: 31969910 [PubMed]
CONCLUSION: Ultrasound and MRI have similar diagnostic performance for detecting parametrial infiltration in women with cervical cancer. This might have relevance from the clinical point of view, since ultrasound is cheaper than MRI. PMID: 32096793 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Authors: Miao H, Song WB, Zhu H, Wang Q, Tian Y Abstract OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of GREM1 on the sensitivity of cervical squamous carcinoma cells to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The resected cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues of patients with cervical carcinoma were collected. The expressions of GREM1 protein and mRNA in SiHa cell line of cervical squamous carcinoma were tested by Western blot and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The effect of GREM1 on chemotherapy sensitivity of SiHa cells was tested by MTT assay. SiHa cells were irradiated w...

Conclusions: Although in many cases CIN tends to regress spontaneously after delivery, such outcome is not to be expected in all patients. When invasive cervical cancer has been excluded, definitive treatment for cervical dysplasia may be deferred to the postpartum period without any harm to the mother.
