Although CPR remains a cornerstone of resuscitative efforts in the inpatient setting, it was not originally developed to be used on any hospitalized patient. Thus, it is important to examine the data regarding the outcomes of CPR performed on such populations to rigorously evaluate the utility of this aggressive intervention. This can help clinicians and patients make informed decisions about code status.
