Racial Differences Among Patients Receiving Palliative Care Consults (S783)

Palliative care can improve symptom burden and reduce complications for patients with serious medical illness, but little is known about how demographics may affect palliative care consult and patient outcomes. Age, gender, race, and geography have been identified as contributors to knowledge of and receptiveness to palliative care services, but findings are inconsistent.
