Polyoma (BK) Virus Cytopathic Effect in Urine Cytology is Not Associated with High Risk of Developing High Grade Urothelial Carcinoma

ConclusionsThe presence of BK-CPE in urine cytology samples does not increase the overall risk of developing HGUC. Our results support TPS’s recommendation to place urine samples with BK-CPE in the “Negative for high-grade urothelial carcinoma” category.
